Singulair
Singulair contains the active ingredient montelukast, which is a type of medicine known as a leukotriene receptor antagonist.
It works by blocking the action of leukotrienes, which are chemicals released by the body as part of allergic and inflammatory reactions.

Adults and children 15 and over: The usual dose is one 10-milligram tablet once a day in the evening.
Children 6 to 14 years old: The usual dose is one 5-milligram chewable tablet once a day in the evening.
Allergies
Adults and children 15 and over: The usual dose is one 10-milligram tablet once a day taken at any time.
Children 6 to 14 years old: The usual dose is one 5-milligram chewable tablet once a day taken at any time.
